The second problem with CD vocabulary tools is that they over rely on simply listening to the words being spoken by a commentator along with a definition and often an example. While this may seem like an easy way to learn words, it is very easy to tune out and learn absolutely nothing. You learn words best when you are actively engaged in the learning.
