The apostrophe is powerful punctuation. Depending on
where it's placed it can denote possession, missing letters, the end of a
subquote, and more. Wow! Limits to the power of the apostrophe are not currently
known. Also unknown, for the most part, is correct apostrophe use. It's
difficult punctuation. The Friends of the Apostrophe Web site, part of the
superb Writer's Guide 101 Site, makes a valiant stab at helping the world (at
least the American English writer's world) properly apostrophize. The site is
useful both as a text and as a reference, and should be a mandatory visit for
all writers and writer wannabes. Not "wannabe's".... http://www.write101.com/fota.htm

Hello there!
I recently visited your site Write101 and
want to compliment you on what you are doing.
You might be pleased to hear that Write101has
been applauded in the latest update to the Bikwil Web site.
"A free writing course, six home-study
tutorials with personal tutor (not free) — these and much, much more (over 200
subpages) are available from this wonderful Aussie site. It's run by Jennifer
Stewart, an ex-teacher of high school English. For fun, why not add your
own chapter to The Never-Ending Story? If you're game, that is."
Again, congratulations on providing such an
excellent resource!
Cheers,
Tony Rogers

Improving Your Writing
Writing is not just for writers. We all have to
communicate with the written word sometimes and, like it or not, others judge us
by what they see on the page or the screen. Feel insecure when you're at the
keyboard? Maybe today's Web site has the answer. I'm Charles Bowen with the
Internet News.
Today's report: Write101.com. This site is
operated by former teacher Jennifer Stewart, and offers more than 200 pages of
help for anyone wanting to improve writing and editing skills. Jennifer helps
you look at grammar, punctuation and structure so you can evaluate your own
prose, then improve on what you find there. It's a full-fledged writing course
for free.
This site contains
more than 200 pages of articles on writing and is designed to help everyone
improve their writing and editing skills.
The process involves
looking at grammar, punctuation, and structure in a way that allows you to
re-evaluate your writing style and improve the way you communicate in text.

Write101.com contains over 200 pages of articles on
writing and is designed to help everyone improve their writing and editing
skills. The process involves looking at grammar, punctuation, and structure in a
way that allows you to re-evaluate your writing style and improve the way you

circulate the knowledge and resources she accumulated during her teaching years.
If you crave more, you can buy a six-part home study writing course that covers
everything about developing your writing style, writing and documenting essays,
and preparing business reports and letters. Accessing the online articles and
resources for writers remains free. While there are plenty of writing related
sites on the Web, this one earns its mention by focusing specifically on
professional and creative writing skills. http://www.write101.com/
Hello,
I'm Stacy Henderson, editor-in-chief of Home

We came across your fine editorial, "Customer Service: Responding to
Complaints" and are interested in possibly reprinting it in the
September/October 2001 issue of Home Business Magazine, a bi-monthly, 85,000

We would also like to include it on our website
We would also include the resource box at the end of the article which you
previously provided, which credits
and promotes you, your company, and your products and services.
Thank you for your time, and I look forward to hearing from you.

Dear Jennifer,
I have been subscribed to your ezine, Writing Tips, for a couple of
months now and I have enjoyed reading and learning from it. I always
look out for the Latin phrase of the week ;o).
I publish an ezine for writers too, The e-Writer's Place Update e-Letter.
One of the regular columns there is devoted specifically for ezine
publishers. I'd like to ask if you'd be kind enough to be interviewed
via email. I'd like to feature you and your ezine in the November 27
issue of the ezine. I look forward to hearing a positive response
from you!
Cheers,
Shery

The Tong Master
has appeared on New Zealand Television. The programme is
a blokey/matey sports show called Lion Red Sports Cafe. They reproduced
your piece, "The Tong Master", word for word in the item. It was acted
out by the principals of the show who captured the essence of your piece
as only someone in New Zealand or Australia could.
I enjoy your weekly emails thoroughly.

Hi,
This is Joe Robson, Co-founder of The
Newbie Club
whose focus is to educate and help
Newbies to learn the basics of PC's and the Internet.
As an integral part of this goal we have recently
established The Newbie Club Academy(tm), which will offer a
series of FREE ebooks on the essential basics.
So we are putting together an ebook consisting entirely of
articles written by some of the Internet's established
marketers. Not the 'Hyped up' type, but Marketers like
yourself for whom I have the greatest personal respect.
Can we have your permission to include the article below in
the ebook?
I really do hope you agree to this. We anticipate Downloads
in the many thousands, which will mean exposure of your sig
file, and your business, right across the Web.
We will of course tell you when the ebook is available,
along with the Download link.
Many, many thanks,
Best wishes.
Joe Robson.
