Now Is the Time ...
After spending
your working life doing things you have
to do, now at last you can do what you want to
do.
You'll probably spend a
couple of months catching up on all those lazy pastimes
you've been daydreaming about for the past few years;
but once the novelty wears off, you'll find yourself
looking for something more challenging.
The internet has opened
up limitless ways for you to contribute to your
community (on a local or global scale). The only
equipment you need is a PC, an internet connection, a
creative spirit and a competent writing style.
"Uh-oh," I hear
you exclaim, "I've got the PC, the internet
connection, a thousand and one ideas, but the writing
... well, I was never very good at writing ... and it's
too late now ...I guess it's back to the petunias for me
..."
Nonsense! You now have
both the inclination and the time to
make up for any gaps in your education.

Jennifer:
You have helped more than you can ever know!!
This exchange gives me the
opportunity to tell you how much I have gotten out of
your "Tips"
I write
for my own amusement as one of many activities to keep
my retirement fun and
active. You have inspired me beyond my fondest
hopes.
Thanks

Just think of some of the
projects you could set up:
- recollections of
members of special groups (armed forces from
different regions; hospital staff; teachers or
students from particular years at local high schools
/ colleges; parishioners from the days of a
particular minister or priest; workers from a
company's early years; farmers who survived special
years of hardships; survivors of natural disasters
etc)
- special interest
groups - based on health topics, sport, hobbies,
travel destinations, collections etc
- charity groups - you
could organise functions and publicity for
children's groups, animal welfare groups; friends of
the zoo etc
- you could start a
newsletter for people interested in certain species
of plants; particular authors; different branches of
science; philosophers; special pets; crafts; types
of motor car; political beliefs; historical sites
etc. Chances are, if you're interested in a topic,
other people will be too!
This is just a tiny
glimpse at the countless possibilities. If the only
thing holding you back is the fear that your writing
needs a bit of work or that you might make a few
mistakes, stop
worrying.
You can also set up your own
web site and make yourself a little extra income - travel on the
proceeds or donate it to your favourite charity!
Perhaps you'd rather use
your time developing a business so you can use all that valuable
life-experience you've gained.
The Internet provides the ideal
medium for you to do this. Click now to find out how easy it is to write
like an expert AND to sell the fruits of your labour!
