"Why Your Information Product Isn't Selling"

by Jeff Smith

Any one of us who has completed at least one ebook, report, audio, video, seminar, workshop or other information product likely knows the feeling of bundling all of our hopes and dreams into one product, releasing it and then having to deal with it not being the $10,000/month product we though it would be.

Then, as aspiring entrepreneurs who need badly to control our own income level and creativity, we hit the moment of truth when you question your own ability, your future and your sanity.

Believe me, we've all been there.

In fact, if you really dig deeply, the real TOP GUNS in almost any business are the ones that have failed the most; they have survived, in large part, based on their ability to keep plugging away to find the secret sauce for getting it right.

To be able to join the elite group of information entrepreneurs, you need to smash through these roadblocks.

To help, here are 3 tips for managing the growth of your own information product empire:

1. Get Real!

It's great to dream big, and I'm a huge believer in setting your goals high. You will never know your abilities until you dream big. That said, your entire future income should not be based on one single product. What you really want is a great lead-in product that will sell at least $500-$1,000/month and pave the way for additional products using the system we describe in the Ultimate Information Entrepreneur's Success Package

2. Know Your Market's Critical Questions. If your ebook or course is not selling like hotcakes, ask yourself, what is the overwhelming question you answer that your market absolutely MUST have the answer to. Not sure or don't have one? Then you need to re-focus your product, often this can be done with a few days work. Do some digging in your market, find out what the URGENT questions are and include them as major chapters or tutorials within your product.

3. Multiple Exposures. Some of the top of the line Internet marketers may get 5-6% conversion (which to someone starting out would make them salivate), but what they won't tell you is that they only achieve this number through multiple exposures. Most of my customers purchase after a minimum of 3 exposures and some it takes more than 10. Bottom line is, most won't purchase on the first visit to your page, so you need to capture their information and re-market them. Try this formula I use for writing mini-courses that turn visitors into customers.

So you see, you're really not alone when it comes to thinking your product is a flop.

With these tips, you now have 3 powerful techniques to improve your infoproduct marketing results while all of the others give up and never realize their dreams.
