Information Sells!
by
Jennifer Stewart
We're constantly being exhorted to create our own infoproducts to cash in on the
massive demand for information, and there's a common misconception that the only
information that sells has to be related to making money online, but nothing
could be further from the truth!
The
fact is that information sells. Full stop!
Think
about all the books in your local library ... all the magazines on the shelf at
your newsagent's ... all the papers you accumulate in your home ...
See?
Information
sells!
So
how can you create an information product that sells?
Easy
... in fact, there are four simple steps that will lead you to Infoproduct gold
...
Step
1
The
first thing you have to do is to find a niche and fill it.
There
are a couple of ways to do this:
1.
You can find a problem and then create information that shows how to solve the
problem
.
2.
You can sell people information about things they desire (rather than things
they need).
Of
course, most of us have hundreds of problems in our lives, and we desire
thousands of things and finding the right niche may seem like looking for a
needle in a haystack. But there's a way you can discover the most profitable
niches using the Profit
Funnel, (TM). This simple technique can help you choose the most promising
-- and profitable -- topics that will sell year after year.
Whatever
topic you choose, it must have an obvious,
obsessive and consumptive quality.
Step
2
When
choosing your topic, also make sure it's something that buyers are actively
searching for online, since you want to exploit the built-in profitability of
online selling. There's no point in writing an information-packed ebook on a
topic that buyers typically search for offline. When it comes to the Internet,
there's no such thing as "build it and they'll come." There's too much
competition to rely on that!
Step
3
The
third factor you must consider when deciding on your topic is your target
market. You have to focus on a group that actually has money to spend on your
product.
Step
4
And
the final key to making money with your infoproduct is to choose a topic that
can become the basis for a whole collection of products. You don't want to be a
one-hit wonder! Allow for a whole series that's based around your topic, make
provision for upgrades to premier editions and include back-end products you can
sell to your customers.
Follow
this 4-step method to create an information product that sells.
