If you don't have Ultimate Vocabulary, there are still some measures you can take to boost your vocabulary for the GRE. Scoring well in the GRE can be easy if you know how to prepare for it. Brushing up your GRE vocabulary will ensure a better overall performance. If you manage to score high in the verbal section, it will take some of the heat off the other sections. Let’s see how you can improve your GRE vocabulary effectively. Our top GRE Vocabulary TipsTip 1A useful way to learn GRE vocabulary is to make word cards. Write down two words on two large transparent sheets of paper and stick them in front of your desk or wherever you can read them frequently. Change the sheets every day with new words. Keep collecting the sheets you remove. After you have run out of new words, take out the sheets you have collected. Hold them in such a way that the back of the paper faces you. Look at the word from the back and try to recall what it was. Better still; try to remember its meaning, synonyms and antonyms. From the back of the sheet, you will only be able to see the length of the word and at most the letter with which it starts. Keep doing this exercise till you have learnt all the words. This fun exercise will make you an expert in the GRE vocabulary. Tip 2 Make GRE vocabulary words lists. In the GRE, words can come from any subject. So, pick up difficult words from either the Internet or the dictionary. Don’t make a random list. Put the words in groups based on a common association. Review the list every day. It is better to make the list in your own writing so that you memorize the words even while writing.Tip 3 You can take your own GRE vocabulary test. After spending so much time in learning new words, you need to know how many of them you will remember. A good way to do that is to try to recall a word by looking only at its meaning. You can place your hand over the word and read its meaning, synonyms and antonyms. Try to remember the word. If you can’t, that means you will not remember it at the time of the GRE. Mark the ones you don’t remember and learn them again. This way, you will create solid GRE vocabulary.Tip 4 Use software - modern vocabulary software uses special technology to help you learn words faster and more easily, so it will definitely give you an edge in the exam. We have had reports of students improving their GRE verbal scores by 50-100% using Ultimate Vocabulary for the GRE Exam so we definitely recommend checking out this software.Read more articles here to help you improve your vocabulary ...
