Starting An Internet Business The Stress-Free Way! by Susan K. Pellan

Quick Tip - websites - the perfect gift!

~ * ~

Greetings,

We'd all love to follow in the footsteps of the Bill Gates of this world and make our fortunes from technology. Susan Pellan has some tips on how to start your Internet business with a minimum of stress.

It seems to be more and more common these days, that families spread out all over the world - following better climates, better jobs or better opportunities for themselves and their children.

The down-side of this, of course, is that it's easy to lose touch. Grandparents miss out on all those magic times, watching babies take their first steps; start school, graduate; get married etc. Why not give someone in your life the gift of keeping in touch? Set up a website where they can see (and then post) photos, letters, videos, audio tapes of all those important and not-so important moments. This week's Quick Tip looks at the growing trend of giving websites as gifts.

Enter the contest to win a six-part writing course. There's one drawn on the first Monday of every month. Just click to enter: mailto:wsale@SmartBotPRO.NET?subject=REF003

Regards,

Jennifer

Starting An Internet Business The Stress-Free Way!
Publisher: Susan K. Pellan

Although most people head off to work for someone else
every day of their careers, some march to the beat of a
different drummer by owning and operating their own
business on the Internet. Are you ready to join them?

Entrepreneurs Top 10

Getting a new venture up and running on the Internet
takes business skills and personality traits that are
not all that common. If you are considering starting
your own Internet business, take a moment to ask
yourself the following questions:

1)  Do you have organizing abilities, personal drive
    and leadership qualities?
2)  Are you in good physical health, able to endure
    long hours?
3)  Are you psychologically ready to take some risks?
4)  Are you prepared to wait several months to make
    a profit?
5)  Do you have specific expertise in the business you
    want to start?
6)  Do you know how to find your particular niche in
the market and how to identify your customers?
7)  Do you know how to sell enough of what you have,
at a price that will return an adequate profit for
    you?
8)  Can you obtain the money you will need to start and
keep the business running without getting into cash
    flow problems?
9)  Do you like to think ahead and plan for your future,
then work to make it happen?
10) Do you have the support of your family?

Starting a business online certainly has unique
challenges, but if you answered yes to a majority of
the preceding questions, you may have what it takes to
be successful in starting your own business on the
Internet!

If you really don't see yourself here, don't despair!
You are now aware of the sort of skills and traits you
need to cultivate in order to prepare yourself. You
should, however, carefully rethink your plans. Every new
business faces difficulties. You want to be sure you are
up to the task.

GETTING STARTED

The right mind set is just the beginning. Running a
business also takes a sharp business sense. Knowing
how to take advantage of market conditions and
developing strategies to get through the tough times
will help you turn your great idea into a successful
business online.

THE CAPITAL IDEA

Securing adequate financing is a primary concern for most
new businesses. Most people don't, personally, possess all
the resources it takes to get a business up and running,
but as a business owner you will need to invest some of
your own money. Putting your own funds into a business
venture helps prove your commitment to potential
investors or other sources of financing.

Starting your business can be a most exciting and
rewarding adventure and can allow you financial success
and prosperity, along with a wonderful sense of
accomplishment. The particular elements that are
necessary to start and operate an Internet business, as
opposed to an offline business, are the same, yet
drastically different. If I could offer only one piece
of advice, it would be to research, research, research!
Learn all you can before you begin. The longest way around
is, frequently, the shortest way to success!

Quick Tip

Scarborough Research has completed over 175,000 interviews from adults over 18 in 64 leading US markets to compile a list of characteristics which includes computer ownership and plans, and Internet activity.

The report shows that 65% of adults over 18, living in computer households, access the Internet at home. This is a 29 percent increase in the number of adult Internet users from the past year.

What does this tell us? That the Internet is here to stay - if you ever had any doubts!

More and more people are realising how convenient it is to keep in touch with family and friends around the world, by going online. One of the problems many have is the fear of the unknown - older users especially, often think that it's all too difficult. The good news is that there are some excellent packages that let anyone - from total beginner to experienced user, get online with a minimum of fuss and expense.
